Our services

Evaluation and Management

• The Physicians at The Iowa Hand Center offer evaluation and treatment for conditions of the upper extremities as well as management of chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

X-Rays

• We are able to perform diagnostic x-rays during your visit and can arrange for additional radiographic evaluations at nearby outpatient testing facilities.

EMG/NCV Studies

• Dr. Bahls performs complete EMG (Electromyography) and NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity) testing for both the upper and lower extremities. To aid in the evaluation of common musculoskeletol conditions. This testing can frequently be coordinated with your evaluation by the Orthopaedic hand surgeon.

Extended Evaluations

• The physicians at Metro Orthopaedic Surgery perform consultations, second opinions, impairment ratings, and independent medical evaluations. These services require coordination of medical records, x-rays, and other testing. Please contact the office for complete information.

Prescription Refills

• If you need a refill on medications prescribed by our physicians, please call your pharmacy. If a refill is required, your pharmacy will contact us. Refills will be done during normal offices hours only.

Disability Claim Forms

• We make every attempt to complete your forms with-in 72 hours of receipt. Please make sure your portion of the form is completed. We also need the address or the fax number of the insurance company requesting the information.

After Hour Emergencies

• If you need to speak to a physician after normal hours, please call (515) 327-1555. The physician on call will be contacted by our answering service.
